Throw a Dog a Bone!
Sure,
you can run down to the grocery store and buy a box of treats;
but making homemade treats for your special pooch will not only
save you money, but keep your dog healthy. You choose the ingredients
that go in to the dish. You know your dog, his particular allergies
or health concerns.
Be sure that you don't include any ingredients known to be harmful
to dogs, such as raisins, grapes, chocolate, and onions. So check
the label of any prepared foods that you are using such as baby
food or bouillon. Remember that not all food that's good for humans
is good for dogs. Some foods can cause allergic reactions--itchy
skin, rashes, dull, thinning hair, and other coat problems.
Some
pups also require special diets due to allergies or health problems
and can't indulge in store-bought treats. If you indulge your
furry friend in a home-made treat you can rest assured that it's
wheat-free, yeast-free, or meat-free.
Experiment
with recipes using all-natural ingredients. Commercial varieties
often are high in fat and include additives, preservatives, and
fillers with little nutritional value.

if you love your pooch and like to bake, dive in to our dog treat
recipes!
