China Doll Guest House - We can accommodate up to eight guests in China Doll I, ten guests in China Doll II, and six in our garden unit, China Doll III. A combination of queen and full size beds, queen size sofa beds, and high-quality queen size Aerobeds allows for great flexibility and comfortable sleeping arrangements for all.

From fireplaces to cozy living areas to gourmet kitchens filled with dozens of breakfast foods and your favorite beverages, you may feel as though your own mom had prepared for your stay. You can enjoy dining in the kitchen, in a roomy, cushioned dining area, or outdoors overlooking our lush garden.

We provide a selection of classic movies that can be viewed in the living room or the bedroom, or you can just enjoy some light background music on our full entertainment system.

The office areas in all three apartments include a computer with MS Office and high-speed cable Internet access, as well as a scanner, fax, and black-and-white laser printer. Low-cost color laser printing is available via our wireless network, and a photocopier and CD writer are also provided in each office. A color inkjet printer is provided in our garden unit, China Doll III, and color laser printing is available in our main office (2/3 of a block away) accessible via the network.

In the garden unit, China Doll III, a conference area seats four and is equipped with an overhead projector and a wall-mounted television with computer hook-up that allows you to make presentations from your own notebook computer. China Doll I and II, our larger units, also have ample space for meetings and spreading out your work.

Extra guests are $20/night.

A one time $100 weekend surcharge is applied for stays that include a Friday or Saturday night. This fee is waved for stays of 7 days or more.

Rates do not include 11.9% local hotel tax. There is a 2 night minimum stay any time, a 3 night minimum stay on a holiday weekend, and a 4 night minimum stay for Memorial Day, Labor Day, Marathon Weekend, and Thanksgiving. Rates are effective April 1, 2008 and are subject to change.

More than 7 days notice - no charge; 2 to 7 days notice - one night's charge; Less than two days notice - up to two days charged. All charges waived if room is rebooked by another guest.

Pet Policy: Pets are welcome. Our only request is that dogs be kept off the beds and out of the garden. We are happy to provide a large, plush doggie bed, food and water dishes, and for our more active canine friends, a portable kennel upon request for when you have to leave your pet alone inside the apartment. There is a $10 per night surcharge for pets.

If you are concerned about lingering allergens from prior visitors, upon request, we will steam clean the carpets before you arrive. Please let us know in advance if you will want this free service.

Non-Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited in the bedrooms. We discourage, but do not prohibit, smoking in the other areas. You are completely welcome to smoke outdoors.

Things To Do: Everything Chicago has to offer! Theater, Dining, Music, Museums, Zoo, Sports Teams, Lake Michigan, Antiquing, Shopping, Navy Pier, and Festivals are readily available form your near North side Chicago neighborhood home.

The neighborhood offers a broad range of restaurants, theaters, bars, and live music. Kingston Mines, Chicago Blue, Briar Street Theater, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and the beach are within walking distance.
