for Life Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to ending the suffering of homeless cats
and dogs in Arizona. Overpopulation is responsible for most forms of animal suffering
including neglect, abuse, homelessness and euthanasia. Friends For Life believes
in spay and neuter programs and does not believe in using euthanasia as a means
for population control or convenience. With the current overpopulation crisis,
prevention is not enough so Friends for Life maintains a shelter and an active
adoption program for the unwanted animals already born. Guardian

Rescue brings relief to thousands of distressed, neglected, abused and discarded
animals, large and small, every year. The shelter operates financially on the
proceeds from their thrift shop in Fortuna, California, adoption fees on adoptable
animals, fundraising projects and donations from the private sector. Grants are
increasingly more difficult to obtain, but occasionally help comes through these.
The most horrific cases are the daily rescues. Shannon Miranda, his son and team
of volunteers have spent thousands on gasoline to drive thousands of miles to
rescue terribly abused animals. They have fought legal battles, sought homes,
cared for so many animals and inexhaustibly continue to raise funds. The Rescue
shelters, dogs, cats, exotic birds, rabbits, horses, pigs, alpacas and more. No
cry for help goes unheeded. Operating funds for feed, supplies and veterinary
care are desperately needed.

The Performing Animal Welfare Society Wildlife Sanctuary is a place where abandoned

peace and dignity. For more than twenty years, PAWS has been at the forefront
of efforts to rescue and provide humane sanctuary for surplus animals providing
the space, natural habitat and quality of care which they deserve. PAWS
is a true sanctuary-a permanent home where animals come first. PAWS is internationally
recognized as a leader in animal welfare- - among our greatest concerns are the
treatment of animals in traveling shows, animal acts, television and movies; captive
breeding, the exotic animal trade and inadequate standards of care for captive
wildlife. Founded in 1984 by former Hollywood animal trainer and author,
Pat Derby, and partner, Ed Stewart, PAWS maintains 3 sanctuaries for captive wildlife-30

its volunteer-driven Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS), UAN shelters and

seizures and hoarding cases, in the United States and Canada. The
LifeLine Grant Program provides funding to Good Samaritans, animal rescuers, non-profit
organizations and pet owners to help them care for animals in life-threatening
situations. Through
the Premarin Awareness Campaign, UAN educates women about hormone drugs made from
pregnant mares' urine (PMU) and helps people adopt the mares and foals cast off

was created because guinea pigs at area shelters were not being adopted, but euthanized.
Most people look to a Pet Store to buy their first guinea pig, never thinking
of the numbers of them waiting in area shelters. These guinea pigs were never
finding their way out and into new homes. CCI was created to change all that.
CCI's is to provide a NO KILL shelter, for guinea pigs who have been abandoned
or are no longer wanted; to educating the public that no animal should be considered
disposable; to offer a sanctuary program for animals too old, handicapped or sick
to be housed in another setting; and to be a leading source of accurate information
from documented sources regarding the maintenance and care of cavies.

For Life®, The Animal Sanctuary of St. Croix Valley, is a national non-profit
corporation established for the benefit of homeless animals. Home For Life is
an expression of a new kind of animal shelter, the long-term animal sanctuary.
They provide life-time care for the special needs animal, the cat or dog that,
while still able to lead a quality life, is unable to find a home due to age,
chronic treatable disorder, handicap or similar reason. Home For Life does not
adopt our animals out. Once an animal comes to them, it truly has a home for life.
The sanctuary is home to just over 200 animals who, for one reason or another,
were slated for euthanasia before coming to our sanctuary. Home
For Life provides a healthy, clean environment suitable to its residents' behavioral
and social needs. The sanctuary currently cares for about 55 dogs and 145 cats,
plus 25 cats who are positive for feline leukemia. The animals are not confined
to cages, but rather, are given freedom to interact with one another. | If

pet overpopulation every year. AnimalKind runs a public education campaign to
communicate the benefits of spay/neuter to more than a quarter million people.
Most pet owners responding to a spay/neuter ad stated that the cost of surgery
was prohibitive. Existing discounted programs, while important to many, require
co-pays that are simply out of reach for many people. AnimalKind's new program,
THE $20 FIX, will address the very source of the overpopulation crisis. THE $20

mission is to work with the animal welfare community to eliminate the euthanasia

30 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Circle Tail's mission is to provide
high quality assistance dogs to people with mobility, hearing, neurologic or psychiatric
disabilities at no charge to the individual, and to promote the human-canine bond
in the community by providing dog adoptions, obedience training, behavior management
and boarding services. Circle Tail does not charge recipients for their
dogs. Our funding comes from individual donations, corporate donations, grants,
and our own fundraising efforts. Further, we do not have a breeding program; we
obtain our dogs from families who can no longer keep their pet, other shelters
and rescues, and donations from breeders. Since there are millions of dogs euthanized
each year, carefully selected puppies and/or dogs provide purpose to homeless
dogs' lives, and help people with disabilities. Those who are not suitable for
service work are adopted into loving homes; all of our dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered
before adoption, ensuring none will contribute to the pet overpopulation problem.

Adoption Network is a network of services and support, not a shelter. Animals
in our care are placed in foster homes while they receive medical attention
and lots of love until they are up for adoption. We assist the public with
re-homing their pets as well as finding the perfect pet for those who are
wishing to provide a permanent home for an unwanted animal. We are also available
to assist shelters and rescue groups who are overwhelmed and need to find
placements for some of their animals. We offer once/month adopt-a-thons as
well as extra publicity for rescue groups and local shelters. Our goal is to
help animals in-transition so they do not end up in dangerous situations and to
provide assistance to shelters if an animal is in danger of euthanasia or
needs special attention. We can support shelters and frustrated families
by being a resource for training, veterinary help or contacting rescues.

Sav-R-Cats International, Inc was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to ensure the protection, safeguarding and humane treatment of cats. To accomplish that goal, we depend entirely on the contributions of cat lovers and caring individuals and groups - and we invite you to complete and submit our online membership application. You can become a member of Sav-R-Cats International with a tax-free contribution of as little as $25.00.
When felines are brought into a facility, many of them are badly treated. Some suffer malnutrition because of poor supervision by irresponsible agents. All animals, especially cats, need careful handling, proper diet and tender loving care. Stray cats that are brought to a shelter must receive the same the treatment and respect as domesticated pets of all kinds. We are dedicated to ensuring that all cats are treated humanely and given a chance to live - to brighten a child's smile and bring companionship and comfort to someone who needs it! |

Summit Assistance
Dogs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing highly skilled assistance
dogs to people with disabilities or institutions that can benefit from their use.
Summit's mission is to empower people and animals to greater heights. Assistance
dogs empower people with disabilities to lead lives of greater independence by
performing tasks that would otherwise require reliance on a human helper. These
tasks might include retrieving needed objects, turning on/off lights, alerting
a hearing impaired person to the sound an alarm or doorbell, etc. Perhaps more
important than the tasks performed, however, is the relationship itself. Depression,
loneliness and anxiety often accompany disabilities and it is the dogs capacity
for unconditional love that is its greatest gift. Through partnership with an
assistance dog, people often experience a joy and confidence previously unattainable
through other means.
